Hi, I'm Derek

Derek in his natural habitat

I started growing hemp for CBD to help me with my insomnia, anxiety, and back pain. Then I gave it to friends, and then their friends. One thing led to another and now I have a small farm in Oregon with chickens, goats, and a whole lot of hemp.

I care for our plants from seed to bottle, grown in the sun with zero pesticides. I make our tinctures without solvents, using a simple heat and time process, with organic oil from sustainably-harvested coconuts. And I have it lab tested it to make sure there’s no THC, so it won’t make you high, just relaxed.

The result is a natural, full spectrum CBD oil that you can trust because you know the farmer. I sincerely hope our products help you as much as they’ve helped me.

Our mission is to farm sustainably to make quality botanical products that honor nature and help good people feel better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you ship?

Hemp is legal in all 50 states, and we ship to all of them. Unfortunately, we cannot ship outside the US yet.

How do I use the Tincture?

Put it under your tongue for a minute – this helps it enter your system quickly – then swallow. It can also be used topically on sore muscles or as massage oil.

Will CBD get me high?

No. Some call CBD non-psychoactive, but that’s not true. It does act on your brain, it’s just not intoxicating.

So what does CBD do?

The FDA does not allow CBD sellers to make medical claims. In fact, if you see another seller claiming that CBD "cured" something, run away. Here’s what we can say: CBD has been used for its anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic effects. There is emerging science to support these uses, though it’s not standard medical practice yet. Check out our customer reviews at the bottom of product pages to read firsthand experiences from real people talking about how CBD has helped them.

What’s in your Tinctures?

We work hard to include only what’s necessary and nothing more. We source organic, fair trade ingredients whenever possible. All our tinctures are made with MCT oil. Medium Chain Triglyceride oil is a great conduit for Cannabinoids. It comes from fractionated coconut oil, so it does not solidify. Our Tinctures often contain Sunflower Lecithin, which makes the CBD more bioavailable. We infuse that with the flowers we grow to produce our full-spectrum Tinctures.

What does “full spectrum” mean?

In general, there are two kinds of CBD products: isolates and full spectrum. Isolates go through a chemical process to remove everything but the CBD molecule, whereas full spectrum provides a snapshot of all the Cannabinoids and terpenes that occur naturally in the plant. In our experience, full spectrum products are much more effective than isolated CBD.

What is the entourage effect?

The term “entourage effect” refers to the synergy that occurs between the natural Cannabinoids that occur in the hemp plant. In addition to CBD, a full spectrum product will contain trace amounts of other Cannabinoids like CBG and CBN. The product is more effective when they’re all working together.

Are your products vegan?

All our products are vegan except the Salve, which contains beeswax.

What’s the difference between Hemp and Cannabis and Marijuana?

It’s all Cannabis. Some Cannabis is high in THC (the thing that gets you high). That stuff is typically called Marijuana, but that’s an outdated and racist term. Some Cannabis is very low in THC and high in other non-intoxicating Cannabinoids like CBD. That’s Hemp. Legally, Hemp is defined as Cannabis that is below 0.3% THC by weight. But that’s a legal distinction, not a botanical one. Botanically, it’s all genus Cannabis.

Are your products lab tested?

Yes, many times. We have our crop tested before and after harvest, and we have our products tested multiple times a year. This is a legal requirement of our Oregon Department of Agriculture license, but we go above and beyond. We love our friends at Lightscale Labs.

Why aren’t your products higher in CBD?

You’ll find other CBD tinctures bragging about thousands of milligrams of CBD in a bottle. Usually those companies are just buying isolated CBD powder from who-knows-where and mixing it in oil. Isolates are much less effective than a full-spectrum infusion, which is what we make. Our products are more effective at lower dosages than an isolate, and we know where they came from because we grew them.

I get drug tested for work. Can I use your products?

You can definitely use the topical products – they do not enter your bloodstream. As for the tinctures, it’s a risk. Since we make a flower infusion, there may be minuscule (way under the legal 0.3% limit) traces of THC in them, and depending on the sensitivity of the test, you could get a positive result. We’d never want to be the reason someone loses their job, so we do not recommend taking our tinctures if you’re tested at work. Yeah, it sucks. We hate it, too.
